Both the films, more or less, revolve around the same plot of a boy from a poor family making it big in the unknown world of hip hop while facing intense hardships on his way to the top. 8 Mile is based loosely on the Eminem's actual upbringing and showcases his rapping skills and rise to fame. While watching the trailer we could not help but be reminded of the 2002 film 8 Mile starring rapper Eminem. Gully Boy takes us through the journey of the hip hop scene in India and chronicles the rise of a young boy from the gullys to the national sensation that he becomes. With Ranveer's insane energy and Alia's impeccable acting skills, the trailer not only looks promising but its something that the Indian audiences have not been treated to before.
